Child Birth, Have it Your Way

Each year there are approximately 4 million babies born in the United States.  That is a lot of babies, and the number is still growing.

For many women, delivering a child can be a stressful event. Here at Brigham City Community Hospital, we lessen your delivery stress, because we deliver your baby, your way.

Our birthing options include:

  • Vaginal birth- This is the most common labor and delivery option, with or without the use of an epidural.
  • Caesarean Section- A woman can choose to have an elective caesarean section after discussing the options with her provider.  However, if there are complications with her labor and delivery, she can rest assured that if she had to have a Caesarean Section delivery, she would be given the best care!
  • Natural birth- This option is for women who do not want any medical intervention, without any medicine to either speed up labor or ease the pain of contractions.

If you would like a mid-wife, we have one! Raquel Dibble is a certified Mid-wife practicing at the Brigham City Women’s Clinic. A mid-wife helps with the labor, delivery, and the postpartum phase of child birth. For both natural and vaginal labor and delivery options, a patient can choose to have a mid-wife.

Some women choose to hire a Doula to support them with their choice to have a “Natural birth”.   The Doula, also known as a “labor coach”, will come into the hospital with the patient and can help the patient focus, while providing them with the physical and emotional support that some women desire during childbirth.

Doulas often encourage women to have a natural delivery without any medical intervention. “We want women to know that when they choose to deliver their child at our facility, they will get the best and most personal, one-on-one care.  We might not be bigger, but we are better”, says Kari Griffin, Director of Women’s Services.
